Sports Coaches (Nationwide)

Contract Start Date: 01/Jan/2018 Remuneration: £7-12 p/h

As part of our expanding delivery programme, we are looking for qualified sports Coaches from all sports. These coaches must have a minimum of a UKCC level 1 in any relevant sport. We welcome applications from all, ideally, applicants will be qualified before applying and will be familiar with delivering in a school or club setting. Although training can be provided should it be necessary. successful applicants will be employed on a Self-employed basis and will be used in the delivery of Physical Education Scotland classes as well as classes on behalf of our partner agencies. A valid first aid certificate and child protection certificate is desirable but these courses can be provided. under the Protection of Vulnerable groups act, sports coaching with under 18s and vulnerable adults comes under the legislation as (regulated work) and therefore the successful a applicants will be subject to an enhanced PVG disclosure check.

Child Protection Tutors

Contract Start Date: 01/Jan/2018 Remuneration: £: Negotiable

Physical Education Scotland is looking for qualified and experienced child protection tutors to deliver as part of our coach education programmes. Tutors must have the relevant qualifications to deliver child protection training. Ideally, this will be Sports Coach UK or another national governing body course. You must have also attended a child protection course within the last 18 months. Evidence of a relevant teaching or assessing qualification is required before delivery can commence. E.g Sports Education Tutoring PDA, level 3 in education and training. Pay will be dependant on experience and qualifications. Tutors will be employed on a self-employed basis and may be asked to travel to facilitate sessions. Expenses may be covered where appropriate.

Funding Officer (Volunteer)

Contract Start Date: 01/Jan/2018 Remuneration: Voluntary

Physical Education Scotland is seeking to recruit a volunteer funding officer to the Physical Education Scotland Board. Responsible to the Director, the funding officer`s Primary role will be to identify suitable funding opportunities and apply for them on behalf of Physical Education Scotland. The post will be a voluntary post and will require 1-2 hours per week, based from home. The applicant should have excellent written English and sound knowledge of the sporting system and how to write funding bids. This post may lead to paid employment if the initial period is successful. 

First Aid Instructor

Contract Start Date: 01/May/2018 Remuneration: £60-£120 per day

As part of our First aid delivery programme, we are currently recruiting First aid Trainers for the following courses. Level 3 First aid at work, Level 3 Emergency First aid at Work, Level 2 Sports First Aid. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of courses across Scotland. All equipment and training will be provided prior to the start of delivery. The applicant will be employed on a self-employed basis and will remain responsible for all tax contributions. Having access to your own transport is essential for this position. Previous first aid instructor experience is desirable although training is available. Some courses will be delivered on military establishments, it is, therefore, essential that candidates have full photo identification that can be presented with your application. 


Candidates must have a valid level 3 in First aid at work or higher qualification. You must also have one of the following teaching qualifications. 

Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF or RQF) 
Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training (QCF or RQF) 
Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (QCF or RQF)
